As Manager of the University Compliance Program, Steve Sherman promotes University-wide compliance efforts and works with subject-matter experts across Grounds to uphold the University's commitment to the highest standards of ethics and integrity.
Steve has worked at UVA since 2006, first as Doctoral Intern in the Office of the Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, and currently in the Office of Audit & Compliance. During his time at the University, he has been involved in the assessment and administration of programs such as the Cornerstone Strategic Plan, AccessUVA, endowment spending protocols, enterprise risk management, and foundation relations. In total, he brings over 20 years of professional experience in education and business.
Dr. Sherman earned his Doctor of Education from UVA (School of Education and Human Development), his Master of Business Administration from UVA (Darden School of Business), and his undergraduate degree from Duke University.
